World war z the complete edition audiobook free download

If you willing to pay people to narate at least make sure they aren't complete charletons who haven't a clue and butcher their roles with disjointed accents with the consistency of a gravel road filled with potholes that's also on fire while it hails fist sized balls of disappointment. Maybe I'm biased though, since I assumed effort would be put into making this. I got this expecting it to be the Random House audiobook featuring an a-list cast. Beware, this is not that version.

I feel this is not made clear by Audible. This is not the new movie tie-in edition which supplements the previously abridged full cast recording with new material from previously unrecorded chapters by the talents of Simon Pegg, Frank Darabont, Martin Scorcese etc. I felt really tricked when I paid for this. A soulless cash-in. Buyer beware. Max Brooks has attempted something really ambitious with World War Z - a zombie story told on a global scale. He's really given a lot of thought to how a zombie plague would affect every aspect of life on Earth, political, social, military, environmental etc.

The story is told via a series of anecdotes from survivors of the War, the narration is for the most part pretty good, some is excellent, the American voices are more convincing than those that use accents. There are some pretty clunky national stereotypes and some far-fetched scenarios, as if a zombie plague wasn't far-fetched enough and possibly a little too much gore in places. Having said that this is a very entertaining listen and a brilliant achievement on the part of the writer.

I did enjoy it and I did think it was really well suited to Audio Format with the way it is told. I will probably go back and complete it at some point, it just didn't really have any main character I think was why I got a bit easily distracted from this one.

This book is simply the most clever and thought out zombie book ever written. The research into the social economics and politics of each country mentioned within is simply sublime. It throws a whole new spin on the zombie apocalypse and is written with brilliance and consideration.

You feel and empathise with each of the characters interviewed and you are genuinely sad when the book comes to an end. Best zombie read ever. Ok so I have heard the abridged version that was done a while ago and this new version but I have to admit that the voice acting is 10x better in the old version than this one. I mean the japanese, german, or even american accents sound shocking!!! I have no idea what has happened in the making of this audiobook but please redo the foreign bits outside UK with actors that don't make jap voices sound almost german????

My opinion is stick with the original version it has more of what this book deserves rather than this one. I was extremely annoyed when I discovered that this is not the excellent version with Mark Hamill, Nathan Fillion, Alan Alda and all the other excellent performances - that was what I was trying to buy and amazon foisted this crap on me instead!!

Not happy. Not a patch on the other version. May contain mild spoilers This book was a thoroughly enjoyable listen. The story has an intresting take on the Zombie apocaplyse and is told through a series of interviews, each chapter followng different character and a different set of experiences. The interview style of World War Z is part of the charm of this audiobook, i did not find myself listening to the same narrator for very long, this helped keep the excitement and momentum going as well as the my focus.

This story also bring some instresting ideas how humanity deals with Zombie invasion that i have not seen before Anyway thoroughly enjoyable book, i highly recommed! The audio book must be the best way to access this fascinating story - stories, in fact, as the account of the "real" war Zombies vs the Earth is told through post-war interview, with those who survived.

The harrowing accounts are well-told and all-involving, from old and young, all over the world. Be prepared a Zombie fan's mantra to learn about survivalism, military tactics, despair, desperation, determination and human resilience. It's all in there. I've had the book of World War Z on my shelf for ages! I was determined to read it before I sat down to watch the film but just never have the time!

Sound familiar? I tried the version of the audiobook which I already had and I was hooked instantly! When I tried to locate my position in the physical book, I realised I had an abridged audiobook.

I thought to myself, I need to hear every last word of this - so I signed up with Audible and grabbed the unabridged version. I was completely surprised as I had preconceptions that the book regardless of the film was somehow a comedy?! I can't believe how detailed and thought out the story is. It takes the form of a series of retrospective interviews with survivors of a war that almost wiped out humanity and I have to say I was completely sold.

It's almost as if Brooks knows something that I don't! I've read mixed reviews of it on the site, but I would definitely recommend it to people who want an intriguing listen! It's a gripping, tense and sometimes humorous not very often though story. All the different voice actors also give a brilliant depth and add to the feeling of realism. My only very minor criticism would be the voicing of the Englishman midway through the story - we don't all talk like that!

Really enjoyed the listen and think it might inspire me to listen to more zombie fiction - and I never thought I would say that! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was so realistic and really made me think -not so much about the likelihood of the zombie takeover but even if what large scale war on domestic soil would be like for people like myself and my family. Awesome story. If you like zombies you will love this book.

Forget what you have seen in the movie and enjoy the experience of the book. If anyone ever tells you the movie is better than the book, you have my permission to slap them. Seriously, it's okay to go right ahead and give them a high-five to their face. I kid. Sadly, it's not cool to slap someone in the face. Let alone for having an opinion, no matter how much you agree or disagree with them. So, why is this audiobook so good? Because both aspects of the audiobook are brilliant; both the audio and the story.

Luckily, that is not a physical trophy, otherwise they would have to develop some crazy algorithms to dictate how they shared it between themselves! In all seriousness, excellent voice acting. This alone added a huge sense of depth and engagement to the story. The story is fantastic It isn't one flowing story but simultaneously, it is. Just so that statement doesn't bend your brain, a better way to explain it would be World War Z is a collection of interviews with survivors of the Zombie outbreak.

Winner of AudioFile Earphones Award, Audies Finalist. As any audiobook fan knows, the perfect narration can take a listen from good to great.

Full cast ensembles in particular are the perfect choice for those times you really want to dive headfirst into a story. A cast of narrators, sometimes accompanied by music or sound effects, craft a unique and immersive listening experience. What you get from this book is wonderful. However, you still aren't getting everything. When I ordered the first version orange cover it was missing a significant part of the first eyewitness report, and missing other reports entirely. However, there are still some gaps.

This is missing from the audiobook. The following link explains this and other omissions. Bottom line: in the original version they left out some witnesses, and for consistency removed references to the missing witnesses' testimony from the witnesses testimonies they retained. All this being said, this is one of my favourite audiobooks. Ok this book is not really related to the movie at all. The book is entertaining with a great full cast audio. I have listened to this book well over 20 times.

This is a retelling of wwz or wwz1 as the narrator says is a bad title since it implys a wwz2. Mind you I wish the author would do a sequel book We are left with so many questions about the fall of humanity and I wish they would do more.

I'm not really a fan of the horror genre, although there was a time when "Night of the Living Dead" made Zombie flicks the exception for me. But it's so played out. Add to that the movie version of this which basically shares the title only was so awful, I didn't listen to my friends who recommended the audiobook.

My mistake. There are sections that are poignant, cynical, gripping and terrifying. The underwater sequences, for example, are nutso intense. The voice actors are spectacular. This review is in some ways pointless, insofar as most people inclined to listen to it already have.

It's simply that good. I have a strong aversion to abridged books and probably would not have purchased this had I known it was not the complete work. Having said that, it was still a good listen despite the missing parts.

Think Ken Burns doing a documentary on a worldwide zombie war. All-in-all it is a moving story that is less about zombies than the human spirit, good and bad. I love this book. It supplies a fantastic photo of numerous numerous countries along with groups as well as their experiences combating or dropping to the zombies. You obtain a feeling of all the battles along with difficult options that such a celebration would absolutely create. It involves regularly individuals battling to withstand along with culture collaborating to fight the best challenger mankind has in fact ever recognized.

I obtained this book to prepare for an end- of- the- top quality in my Folklore program, no matter not being much of a zombie follower, yet wound up caring it. There is some unanticipated interweaving of stories also.

The writers are from various locations, occupations, viewpoint, as well as likewise way of livings, as well as the zombies are added like the zombies we understand as well as likewise sorta love considered that Evening of the Living Dead. Absolutely for the wise zombie followers, especially in operation tactical principles to those that, like my kid, keep plywood, hammer as well as likewise nails valuable in situation it winds up being essential to board up our residence windows when the zombies come.

It took me an extended period of time to navigate to taking a look at World War Z yet I in fact valued it! I want to understand even more regarding that.

Generally it has the sensation of the plenty of along with remarkable docudramas that can be made pertaining to The 2nd world war or any one of those issues.
